Learn to batik what you want to make
Unlike a single class, I’m not just taking you through one project. I’m empowering you to come back to YOUR batik space over and over again to try new combinations, patterns, and techniques on an endless variety of projects, from garments to fabrics.
Infinite Projects from one course
When you enroll, you are automatically emailed my 12 page .pdf materials handout, with clickable links taking you to exactly what you’ll need. Avoid the costly mistakes that most beginners make when starting out on their own. There’s a lot of conflicting info out there, and we clear it up for you. Use my tips, tricks, and shopping lists to ensure you’re only doing (and buying) what you actually need to be a batik artist at home!
What’s included:
In the first session, I’ll talk all about my set-up, my tools and materials and work area, and the basic concepts of wax resist dyeing. Watch me apply hot beeswax to a single layer design, and begin a multilayer design. I’ll take you through the steps of creating an immersion dye bath and painting on areas of dye. In our 2nd session, I’ll demonstrate wax removal from the single-layer piece, and demonstrate adding a second layer of wax and dye to the second piece. Plenty of time for Q&A in both sessions!
