This class will be for beginning basket weavers and folks looking for some more challenging techniques with whole rod willow.

Zac will be teaching stake and strand baskets, starting with a round base, twined together with a chase weave. After adding our uprights, three strand twining will hold them up. Then French or English randing will build the body of the basket. If you are ready, you can try zig zag weave, or some other fun techniques like 4, 5, or 6 rod wale.

These baskets will be finished with a 3 (or 4) behind 1 border, and if you have time, you could put on a bow handle, or two small handles.

Bring:

• Water and lunch (we do have spring water, refrigeration, and a microwave)

• A knife and pruners if you have them

More information will be sent out after registering, and 1 week prior to class.

Our studio has a small free parking lot, and there are free spots all along Haywood Rd. There are also many quick and delicious lunch spots within walking distance.
